Bed Linens: Bed Linens are not included. We do provide mattress covers, pillows and duvets for each bed.
Boat Launch, Public: The Drag Lake public boat launch is close by. For locations of other public boat launches on neighbouring lakes, see the Municipality of Dysart's website and select Parks and Recreation.
Boat Rentals: The cottage comes equipped with a canoe and 3 kayaks. If you are interested in renting a jet ski, contact Back Country Tours. For boat rentals as well as jet skis and boating add-ons (water skis, wake boards, etc.), contact Haliburton RPM. Both of these companies can arrange to have your rental delivered to and picked up from the Drag Lake boat launch.
Boating: Motor boating in Ontario requires a licence. Visit the Ministry of Transportation's Office of Boating Safety website for more information. Use of a canoe or kayak does not require a licence. Always wear your lifejacket when boating.

Campfire: The municipality prohibits the burning of fires during daytime hours - two hours after sunrise and two hours before sunset. Fires can be no more than two metres high, they must be attended at all times, and your are required to have a means of extinguishing the fire on hand. The municipality may at times, due to weather conditions, ban all burning. You can obtain the Forest Fire Danger Rating by calling toll free, 1-877-847-1577.
Cell Phone Reception: Cell phone reception is generally strong and reliable. However, there are times when service can be intermittent.
Cleaning of Cottage: We pride ourselves on our cottage's clean and tidy condition. Guests are expected to leave the cottage in the same clean and tidy condition in which they found it. While vacating the cottage, guests are required to remove all their belongings and do a general cleaning and sweep-up. A cleaning fee is added to all rental fees to cover the cost of housekeeping to wash floors, clean bathrooms and surfaces between guests.

Driveway: The cottage has a private driveway. The driveway is covered in gravel. Please be aware that the driveway is steep. There is parking at the top and bottom of the driveway. Please note that the driveway is not fully accessible when snow is on the ground.
DVD: The DVD player plays both DVDs and Blu-Ray DVDs.

Fishing: Fishing in Ontario requires a fishing licence. Visit the Ministry of Natural Resources website for details.

Garbage: Never leave garbage, especially food, outside. Please place all garbage in the receptacles provided. Since we do not have garbage pickup at the cottage, you are required to either take your garbage home with you or take it to the local landfill site. We will provide you with a free landfill access card for the Haliburton Landfill Site located at 222 Industrial Park Road in Haliburton. The landfill site is a less than 15 minute drive from the cottage. Note that the landfill has a recycling program in effect. We can arrange for garbage pick-up for an additional fee.
Guests: Only the renter and his/her designated guests are allowed at the property.

Haliburton Village: The cottage is located less than a 10 minute drive from the lovely town of Haliburton Village. The town has a pedestrian-friendly main street, a beautiful park on the shores of Head Lake, and many restaurants and shops. Shopping includes 2 large grocery stores, a Beer Store and an LCBO, multiple pharmacies and drug stores, sporting goods, hardware and department stores, as well as clothing, home decor and art shops.
Hospital: The Haliburton Highlands Health Centre has a 24-hour emergency room. Haliburton Highlands Hospital, 7199 Gelert Road, 705-457-1392.

Internet: Wireless internet access is available at the cottage.

Keys: Information about gaining entry to the cottage will be given to you prior to your arrival date. Please ensure that all doors and windows are locked when you leave on your departure date.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cooking and serving utensils, and tea towels. Salt, pepper, sugar and coffee filters are also on hand. Garbage bags are provided.

Noise: Noise travels easily across the lake. Enjoy your conversations and music, but please respect your neighbours.

Pets: We love our pets too, but they are not permitted for stays at the cottage.

Septic System: We have a septic system at the cottage, so conserving water is important. Please use the dual flush options on the toilet and conserve water when possible.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.
Supplies: The town of Haliburton has 2 grocery stores, drug stores with pharmacies, an LCBO, clothing shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a library and much more. See the Haliburton phone book for more information.

Toilets: Our toilets are on a septic system. Only toilet paper is permitted to be flushed. Please use the wastebaskets for other garbage and feminine products. Please take advantage of our dual-flush toilets to save water - something we have to be conscience of at the cottage!
Towels: Bath and beach towels are not included.
TV: There is a 60" wall-mounted flat screen TV with DVD/Blu-Ray, Netflix, Apple TV and HDMI ports for video games and multimedia hook-up in the family room. The master bedroom has a 60" wall-mounted flat screen TV with Netflix and Apple TV.

Water: Our cottage water supply is from our private spring-fed, fresh water well. Ongoing testing indicates that the water is free of bacterial contaminants. However, we recommend you bring your own drinking water to the cottage.
